DAVID

I thank God for the wonderful heritage that He has given me. I grew up as a missionary kid in the country of Spain. From childhood I was able to hear the gospel taught and see it modelled in my parents’ lives and in the church that my father pastored in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid. As a result, I came to faith in Christ at a young age.

In my early teens, God began to give me a fresh desire to study His word and serve His people. So at sixteen I began to lead the youth ministry at a new church plant in Valencia, Venezuela. God used that time to confirm his calling in my life for full-time ministry. After going to Bible College in the U.S., I went down to Peru to be mentored for ministry by veteran missionary Austin Gardner. While in Peru, I met my wife and we were married in 2006.

FAVIANA

I was born in Arequipa, Peru into a non-Christian family. When I was six, several of my family members started going to a local Baptist church that had been started by an American missionary. After attending that church for three months one of my aunts took me aside and shared the gospel clearly with me. She showed me that it was only by the grace of God through faith in the finished work of Christ that I could be saved.

From a young age I was able to make several mission trips to different parts of Peru. God used one of those trips to impress upon my heart the need to share the gospel with those that have never heard. I am on the mission field today because a missionary truly cared about the glory of God among the nations. I thank God because He gave me a godly husband and four wonderful children.
